One of my online friends – Sam, wrote this in The Dig Museum:
I would also like to remark that one of our Staff members, has been also linked at . I’m talking about Oded Sharon’s car4ron. I don’t know if Mr.Timothy knows this but Oded is a great programmer and he applied for a programming job on Double Fine & Sons, Incorporated Productions but although he was contacted by the Mighty Double Fine Human Resources department, he wasn’t hired. But that’s ok, Oded will continue to waste his disgustingly great talent in an evil company that has no other reason to be than to fill cubicles with slaves. And that’s a good thing, if you are trying to destroy the world before the apocalypse. Am I Overreacting? No, you CALM DOWN!
Remind me to tell you all about my lovely phone interview I had with Double Fine.

I’ve made a new post to my other site
Check it out.
And GOD DAMN ! donate some money already !
There’s only 6 months left !!!
I though of putting up some “under construstion” sign.
My web hosting PC is going to under go a few maintenence off cycles, to backup it’s entire content before it hard drive fails.
Expect some more downtime.
You’d still have to wait for those stories and pictures form London. I can’t seem to be able to get myself to only pick a few hundreds of pictures out of the thousands I took.
Lee will do it with me tommorow, as we bearly saw each other today.
So many things are going through my head. One of them, like deviant brainwave says, I can’t blog about.
Other things include installing the new car audio system i bought for my VW beetle car. I spent a few hours today cleaning it’s inside today, and i’m heaving thoughs about how to install it.
Gonna be tricky, since they didn’t have stereo or 4 speakered sound system back then when this car was made…
More today, I cought up a bit with some TV, but still much to see. Sorted our some emails. They have been piliing up all these two weeks..
I don’t know if i told you readers, but I started playing my accordion again.
I mostly play out Sci-fi music, like star wars, and i’ve been playing the new hitch hiker’s soundtrack…
I also tought myself to play LeChuck’s theme from Monkey Island.
I didn’t get to play any of the computer games I told myself i’d play once i get back from London, and already the weekend is over, and I need to wake up early tommorow to go to another day at my boring job.
I try to balance the boredom of the job with interests in my personal life, but there are just so many.
All that convention rekindled my enthusiasm for making a REAL israeli convention with an actual star, and such a project requires so much attention and work, not to mention a lot of convincing to do, and politics. I don’t know if i can find the time to do all that.
I also have dreams of letting my artist’s side take a more important part in my life, and if i could only find out how to make money out of it, i might do a career change.
How do you get to be a big time TV producer or director on some sci-fi TV show ? Some of them aren’t too much older then me ! And i’ve been wasting my life on boring programming when i could do something exciting like TV or movies, or computer games !!
Life is just unfair.
My sister told lee yesterday that she prefers her blog because Lee tells what actually happend, while my blog is repetative and complaining.
Well, sorry sis ! I guess i’m just unhappy with my life as they are and i’m trying to figure out how to change them, and if i can’t even talk about it, then i don’t know what to do.
I’ll just say one thing about the trip to London:
We met this very lovely girl by the name of Sara Knecht at the SG1 convention we attended. She’s from Iowa, USA and is with her English class taking some classes in England. She was very nice and both me and Lee almost immidetly connected with her, and spent those 3 days together..
Sara is a true Stargate fan, and remember quotes and Stargate trivia i don’t even dare to remember. But then again, i’m guessing i’m more of a Star Trek / Star wars fan then a Star gate fan.
A simple google search led me to her blog
I’m anxiously waiting for her to write something up in it.
I’ll give her those two weeks to get back from England…
P.S. I’m definently feeling the effects of getting old. Today i couldn’t remember anything about some few old Stargate episodes. Even Lee managed to remember more then I. I need some memory excercises, and to eat more B-12, or whatever you eat to improve memory…
Now where was i ?
Ohh…
I forgot… Neremind…
I’m back from London, and i have so much stuff to say, but I also have a lot of stuff to do first. Plus i want to go over all the 4000 pictures i took and pick a few to make a photo-blog entry.
Wait for it. It’s coming soon.
p.s. you can catch me in Taam hair today if you go there.
I’m sitting here at the London Bakerloo line traint with Lee laptop and trying to force out memories of the past few day which have been so full of activities that I’ve forgot 90% of now, and probably forget about 9% of the rest in the future.
That’s why I take pictures. A LOT of pictures !
I’ve already taken something like 700MB of pictures which is close to 1400 pictures if I’m not wrong
True, some are panoramic views of places we’ve been to – making some 20 pictures here and there into one large pictures, but nevertheless I took a lot of pictures. I know that some day later I’ll watch them one by one. Just like I watch our Prague trip pictures. I remember how I used a small resolution and filled up those 64mb I had with about 400 pictures… and now, when I have 2*128MB + 1*64MB memory AND a laptop to empty the memory into I take SO FUCKING MANY PICTURES !!!
There were some really good ones I saw so far.
enough about pictures. It’s a blog entry about London, not pictures…
There are some weird people here on the underground train.
And talk about smokers ! GOD I hate smokers, and you can’t find any place to eat or drink where they don’t smoke. Plus we keep seeing these drug dealers, standing in corners, trying to sell you their stuff. Disgusting.
We’ve been to The science museum, and the natural history museum, went sightseeing at the big ben, the tower bridge next to the tower of London, Spend some time at a big toy store (and went out of it with less money), and then at the forbidden planet, a HUGE sci-fi oriented store where we’ll visit again to spend the last of our money…
We ate at a several nice places, including some fast food chain called pr?t-a-manger, ate at a pub some fish and chips and some sheperd’s pie, ate some good soup at another fast food place.
And we keep looking for places that have free wi-fi internet so we can hog on. Not much luck. Even the inhternet caf? we paid 1pound to sit there an hour didn’t allow us to use anything else but internet explorer for browsing…
I’m nearing the station we need to get off in, so I’m closing down the laptop.
See ya !
I’m sitting in the El-al 747-400 airplane in flight 315 to London, and writing using Lee’s lew laptop which arrived just on time !!!
My parents, God bless them, went and picked up the laptop for us while we were in the Leonard Nimoy lecture.
All this past month had timing like clockworks. With the convention, hitchhiker screening, star wars, Nimoy, the laptop, and our flight.
Perfect timing also applied to our arrival to the airport and our shopping spree there. We bought shoes, a MP3 cd-radio and speakers for my car, alcohol, and chocolates, and made it to the gate at the exact last minute of boarding.
I’m now hungry. And by now I mean 11:10. Waking up at 6:30 am, and not eating since, Soon they’ll serve food on the plane… I can imagine Lee must be FAMISHED ! she’s used to eating breakfast, and like myself haven’t had anything to eat. Ohhh. There’s already the smell of microwave heated airline food ! mmm… Aireline food… Yeah right, it’s not that exciting… but I imagine all the good british food, I’m going to enjoy real soon and it makes me more hungry ! All that fat, meaty, greacy, yummy food which I’m going to regret eating afterwards but enjoy every moment of while I’m eating it…
Oh here it is…
(15 minutes later)
I don’t get why stand up comedians complain so much about airline food. Our breatfast was really good ! fresh bread, Blinches, cream cheese, strawberry jam.. Yummy !
Our encounter with Leonard Nimoy yesterday could have not been any better !
For the technical part, there were some issues but at the end they played out to our advantage. His visit was initiated and organized by the “Tel-Aviv – Los Angeles Partnership” which I’ve never heard of before in my life prior to this event. This ment that they were in charge of the whole deal. This has a few disadvantages, like they’re dictating of term. I’m not sure if it was Nimoy himself who ask for this or the partnership, but they told us that Nimoy wanted this event to be a small and intimate event, with no trekkies, and no costumes. So we abide by their rules. It didn’t stop us from asking a lot of star trek related questions, despite the fact that it seemed that the host of the event didn’t want Nimoy to even talk about Star trek, but only his directing in the two non trek films he made: “The man and a baby” and “Good mother” which they showed s few clips of both.
The actual event’s name was: Leonard Nimoy – Directing the stars, and it was aimed at film students who gets the chance of meeting famous jewish directors. I wouldn’t describe Nimoy as a director off the hand, and probably wouldn’t have invited him to Israel as such. But they manager to bring him as a “master director” which probably was the reason which he arrived and didn’t charge the outrages sum he usually wants for a convention…
Gila Almagor introduced him. I really don’t like Gila Almagor. I Always disliked her. Ever since I saw her one man show “Avia’s summer” and was utterly disgusted by it, and ever since I was once, when I was 10 or something auditioned for a small tiny role in a movie saw was in the production of (I think it was also Avia’s summer), and got a bit ridiculed and rejected. I always though she was pompous and arrogant, and after hearing her giving the introduction to Nimoy I thinks she’s even worse. At last straw of her long and boring talk was after she listed most of Nimoy’s work other then Star Trek, and then said that in the sixties he also was in “Star Wars” there was a large out roar in the crowd, and when someone tried explaining her the utter mistake she made, she looked like she didn’t unerstand why it’s so wrong… Nimoy politely laughed.
Nimoy when on stage and commented that Gila’s Hebrew was very good. Nimoy himself was very joyful, kept laughing and joking, and seemed like he had fun coming here.
Most of the event was about Nimoy’s other work, and very little about Star Trek, but when the event did get to star trek is was very enlightening. I got to ask Nimoy a couple of questions, About Star Trek of course, I asked about the fact that he was both Directing and acting at the same time, and he said it was hard. I kinda already knew the answer to that, but I wanted to ask something and I hoped he’s have some funny anecdote to add..
In my opinion the best part of the day was that we managed to get in the press conference with him prior to the main event. I sat literally 1 meter away from him, and kicked in the first question : What is you stand about the cancellation of Enterprise. He said that so far Star trek survived for 40 years even though the original series was cancled. I asked him if he thinks it’ll survive another for, He jokes that he doesn’t have permission to tell me that…
All in all I think we were very, even extremely lucky to have had Nimoy come visit, and for those who managed to get into the event and press conference, the fact that it was a small intimate audience made it much more nice and effective for those of us who wanted to ask questions and interact with Nimoy. And in no other convention in the world I could have gotten a better experience then it.
I also used my Israelly Hutzpa and got me and Lee an autograph before the press conference started…
After the event ended, Nimoy left quickly through the backdoor and that was it.
W-O-W !
Meeting Leonard Nimoy in person and having him authograph a picture for us, and asking him question, was just spactacular !
I have to get ready for my flight to London.
I’ll write up some blog entries on Lee’s new laptop : YES ! she got it two hours ago ! my parents drove to the guy and picked it up for us !!
See you in two week give or take…
