Place name: Burgos
Location and distance from work:10 minutes.
Atmosphere: Burger Bar.
Genreal food category: Burger Bar.
Items tested:
– Hamburger meal, incl onion soup, onion rings, and grapefruit juice.
The hamburger was small, undercooked (i asked for medium, i got medium-rare), and the eggplant addition i took wansn’t all to much good.
The onion rings were ok, it’s the frozen industrial kind,
I’ve ate at burgos in the past, and didn’t find it too good, and i found out the same today.
I was also a bit too tired and not hungry enough. It might have effected my judgement.

Price: 33.5 NIS
Overall: OK. doesn’t cost much, doesn’t give too much in return. They have good sauces though..

Place name:Cafe Hillel
Location and distance from work:5 minutes.
Atmosphere: Cafe.
Genreal food category: Cafe.
Items tested:
– Sandwitch lunch, Incl Tuna (Nisuaz) sandwitch, Salad, and Mocha Coffee.

Price: 35NIS
Overall:For an avarage price, i got a hefty meal. very big “small salad”, and a yummy sandwitch which i atr half there and took the other half back to the office to eat in the evening.

Website: don’t even know if they have one.

Note: Ever since I saw “Ugly bags of mostly water” – the documentary movie about klingon trekkies, I can’t shake the fact that Sandwitch in Klingon is called “Hillel” because of some jewish american klingon trekkie who didn’t have a word for sandwitch in klingon so he borrowed a hebrew word, which he took form the american version of Passover Hagada… Aparrantly what we call “Korech” – making a sandwitch from Mazza and horseradish. They call it “Hillel Sandwith”, so when ever i look at Hillel cafe i can’t think of anything else but the Klingon word for Sandwitch. So, i order accordingly.

Place name:La Holla
Location and distance from work:10-15 minutes.
Atmosphere: Pub / dark resteraunt.
Genreal food category: Mexican.
Items tested:
– Encheladas – It was a chilli filled burrito baked with creamed cheese.
in general it was nice. I had better. the ones i make are better.
– fried mushrooms: very good,
– hot spicy cooked potatoes: with, oddly, asian chilli sweet sauce
– and nachos.

Price: 75NIS
Overall: Pretty OK, don’t take Cibus. Music was too loud.

Place name:Giraffe.
Location and distance from work: 5 minutes
Atmosphere: Asian.
Genreal food category: Asian.
Items tested:
– The spicy dish
Disappointing. I remembered it to be VERY tasty. So tasty that i went there one Passover and ate it. Then, passed a year or more
in which i didn’t eat there, because i didn’t have too many mutual friends who liked eating there.
About 6 months ago, i went to the one in Ramat-Hachayal, which was my first time there. I was disappointed when after ordering it,
I got a dish which wasn’t all too tasty. I assumed that specific location was made it diffrently, but now after trying it again
I see that it’s not what i thought it was. It’s rather dull, and the noddles are too thin and not really tasty.
Next time, i’m ordering another dish. My co-workers took “the afgan dish” which i think i’ll try next time.

Overall:
All in all it was nice, and service was extra fast, there was 10% on all the menu, but with tip you pay exactly the same price as what you ordered.
I’d might have ate for 41 if i hadn’t have ordered a glass of lemonade. Sillly me.

Place name:Montagy
Location and distance from work: 5-10 minutes, Shenkar. around the corner from Joya.
Atmosphere: Bistro-bar-resteraunt. Cars, and car models.
Genreal food category: General. Serves beer in lunch deals.
Items tested:
– Tortilla.
A bit too spicy, but generally OK. Comes with some greens and sauce.

Price: 42 NIS +Tip.
Comments: For 45NIS you can also get a first course. Though only option seemed feasable is the same salad that comes with the tortilla, which then is redundant.
Overall: Nice. Might come back one day to try the Schnizel and mashed potatoes, which looked big and nice.

You can feel lucky i decided against using XML to describe the foodlog. I am howeever going to try a fixed format.

Place name: Barbarella.
Location and distance from work: Next to Joya, 5 minutes walk.
Atmosphere: Black and Red. Vinyl couches. Dark, pub-restereaunt.
Genreal food category: General.
Items tested:
– Miso Soup
was ok. Ate better at Taiwan.
– Franko style fried chicken breast: A rolled, fried chicken breast, with mushrooms, and a sauce of cream and Dijon mustard, plus mashed potatoes: Very nice. seemed like a small dish at first, but i ended up filled up.

Price: 49NIS +tip. A bit expensive for what i got.
Overall: Nice place, will need to go back one day. Probably unsuitable for large groups like the Thurday evening dinner club.
