I had a craving for Eggs Benedicts.
The only place i’ve ate EB in Israel is in Dixie, and searching the net i found out that there’s also one in Brassarie
I had a copy of Hair ot Zman tel-aviv or Time out with a list of all the places in Tel-aviv to eat EggsBen, but couldn’t ind it.
I figure out that by the time I got out, into a restaurant, and ordering it, i’d be very hungry, have a hunger headache, and very little money, because these places charge a fortune. I mean 56NIS for breakfats ?
So i googled up some recipes. Of course I was missing bacon, and I have problems making things with raw egg yolk. So i ended up improvising my own version of almost Eggs Benedict, which turned out almost as good as the real thing. Not quite, but still.

Boil some water and put in a small frying pan with high edges. Pour in some viniger.
Water should reach about 90 DegC, and only slightly bubble. The viniger help and the fact that it’s a flat pan with large surface area (Remeber, PV=NRT and P is low because we have a large S).
Put the egg in it and let it boil.
Make the gravey:
mix :
X * Mayonaise, X/2 * Mustard, 2/3 * X Molten butter, Epsilon * Salt, pepper, paprika 4 * Epsilon * Lemon juice 4 * Epsilon * Chopped Dill S.T X := some quantity of mayonaise Epsilon := very small amount
Put a peice of bread to be toasted when you’re in mid mix of the sauce.
The first egg’s white should be ready, and the yolk still running like we like it.
Get the first egg out with those bigs spoons with the holes in it that morfix translates as ” slotted spoon”.
put it on a plate where you places onf of those very absorbant kitchen papers which morfix calls “blotting paper”.
Put the other egg in the semi boiling water.
Prepare first egg:
Layer up the Bread, egg on top of it, and the sauce as portayed in the following layer diagram:

The second egg should be ready by now so, do the second part of the for loop:

I’m sorry to hear that you think a potential steady job with a high paycheck is insulting.
A game requires dozens if not hundreds of models, over a course of many months, and we check the quality of the candidates by 1 model, to me it seems reasonable.
If you cannot easily provide one model, you’re apparently not passionate enough about game making or in this case Zbeng.
Same as programmers are asked to code a small code samples.
For some reason (you not being the first) most artists find it absurd to work on games while most programmers are very happy to code games.
I wonder, what’s the first most insulting job offer you got, something from Pixar ?

Something I learned in my MBA (and I hope is true – life and acedemics are diffrent), is that hiring efforts can use pre-selection effects. And you can save time and effort by having your candidated select themselves.
I’ve spoken to a few graphic artists who actually were excited about the game and contest, and those are exactly the people I want to work with. Not those that will only do it for the money.
Another thing I learned is that hiring efforts also have PR implications, so if the Zbeng contest will generate some stir, it will become more publically knowledgable, and viral marketing will flow and increase it’s awareness.
At the end what matters is how many copies of the game is bought, and the more hype you generate around it, the better.

A week after the article i wrote and linked to in Carnival of games, about World of warcraft addictiveness, I’ve have another breakdown with my guild.
Once again i wasn’t invited in a gulid raid, and as a consequance i didn’t want to give one of the officers a trinket i bought for the guild.
It cause a big stir, i was called names, i was yelled at, and i felt really aweful.
I’m not going to play WoW for now.
I have so many games. to play.
Finished reinstalling Psychonaunts now, and it has some bugs with sound and graphics.
Lets see if rebooting will help.
Well.. altough i had plans to start watching Season 2 of this series tonight, that’s not what my post is about.
I got lost in YouTube today.
An innocent click on a link from GrumpyGamer lead me to 3 hours of aimless surfing and video watching.
I will say that doing so, followed by a conversation i had with Oded Mofradi today was extremly thought provoking and inspirative.
I know my limits, and i know that my imagination has none, and that i’m very practical guy. I have many dreams and ideas that i wish i could see fullfilled, but in reality things turn out diffrently then in my head, and i’m not sure it because of a lack of talent, lack of knowlegde, lack of funding, or lack or friends.
I have a bunch of ideas curling in my mind now that i don’t know how to fullfill in a way that they’ll be as good in reality as they are in my head.

First, my Dad is doing great. Already at home since thursday, walking well, and looks much better. We urge him to rest, but he is eager to play with the new toy he got in form of a titanium transplant in his back.
My back is hurting as well from this prolonged sitting in front of my PC, so I rode to the beach where I managed to avoid getting poison burnt by jelly fish and swimmed a little.
Later I had to go with Lee to her dance studio’s case show, where suprisingly i’ve also met my mother who’s dance teacher also teaches there.
It was boring, but for some reason I wasn’t as aggetated as i’m usually am when i’m bored.
Came back home to play more warcraft, but didn’t maange to get what i wanted in the game yesterday..
Today i need to fix something in the php here on the server and go to a meeting in the Technion, and work a little on progressing Corbomite‘s projects. One of which is Corbomite’s own website, which now features php random magic.
